Thought Patterns

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2

During one particular tough season, I started praying Romans 12:2 everyday. I'd had a challenging few weeks physically, which eventually led to a spiritual and mental battle. I knew I needed God to transform my mind so I could deal with everything, rather than just wishing for the struggling to vanish.

The harsh reality is that life is tough and full of unexpected, sometimes painful, things. Thankfully, there is a solution to the struggle - invite Jesus in. Make time for Him. Allow Him to transform you. When you do this, you position yourself to handle whatever is thrown at you.

We must dispel the lie that we have to get cleaned up before we can invite God into our mess.

As the invitation becomes a habit, it won't be so challenging. Remember that God's Word says "He works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28) That's YOU!

Truth Challenge

Choose a Bible verse that will be your anchor in times of trial, weakness, or need. Keep it posted where you can see it (multiple places, if needed). Be intentional about watching how your thought patterns change.
